E. Thomas Dunn, Jr. received his
J.D. degree in 1984 from Southwestern University in
Los Angeles and a B.A. in the Honors History Program
from Biola College in 1977. Recently, Mr. Dunn was
the Senior Judicial Attorney at the California Court
of Appeal, Fourth District, Division Three, where he
served as Lead Appellate Counsel in the Chambers of
Justice William W. Bedsworth for almost four years.
Prior to joining Justice Bedsworth's staff, Mr. Dunn
was a Senior Deputy District Attorney for the County
of Orange and a Deputy Attorney General for the
State of California.
Mr. Dunn is recognized for his
special skills as an appellate lawyer, notably a
victory in the United States Supreme Court with
Hicks v. Feiock (1988) 485 U.S. 624. He also has
numerous published opinions to his credit, including
In re Feiock (1989) 214 Cal.App.3d 141 and Tobe v.
City of Santa Ana (1995) 9 Cal.4th 1069.
Mr. Dunn has served as an
Associate Professor at Orange County University
School of Law and an Adjunct Professor of Law at
Whittier Law School, Trinity Law School, and Western
State University College of Law. He has also has
served as a member of the House of Representatives
Rules Committee staff in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Dunn has been named Attorney
of the Year by the Constitutional Rights Foundation
of Orange County, and his written works have been
published on both the state and national level. He
is the author of several chapters in California
Criminal Law: Procedure and Practice, published
annually by Continuing Education of the Bar and has
been listed in Who's Who in American Law every year
since 1998. Mr. Dunn holds certifications as a
specialist in both Appellate Law and Criminal Law by
the State Bar of California Board of Legal
Specialization. |
